My brother James turned 20 years old on Wednesday and some family and friends headed to Beaver Lake for a celebratory Lake Day! We’ve had a lot of warm summer days recently, so it was the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and cool down! Beaver Lake is just a short drive from our house in Northwest Arkansas, so we’ve really enjoyed spending time there—the beautiful trees and limestone bluffs that surround the lake are so pretty! Lots of fun, sun, and snacks topped off the afternoon party!
Not long after we got out on the lake, Jeremiah spotted something unusual in the water from the top of the pontoon boat. Josiah went over to check out the once-in-a-lifetime find—a fishing pole floating in the water with a fish already on the hook!! Probably the easiest and most interesting catch any of us will ever make! The fish was glad someone finally found him and let him free, and we were excited to get a fishing pole. It was a win-win!
It’s hard to believe that the 13th child in our family is no longer a teenager! James loves being outdoors almost as much as I do, and he is our resident heavy machinery expert. You can most often find him on a bulldozer or backhoe clearing land for various construction projects. James is the “funcle” (fun uncle!) and all the younger boys around here look up to him and want to be just like him! We are so thankful for James and can’t wait to see how God continues to use and grow him in his 20s.
So grateful for these fun memories together, and God’s beautiful creation!
