My Journey from Doubt and Depression to Grace

by | Aug 22, 2020 | 1 comment

When I was young, I “prayed the prayer” and “asked Jesus into my heart,” but I wasn’t truly converted. In this video I open up about my spiritual journey. After years of struggling with doubts and depression, I came to truly understand the glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the story of God’s grace in my life. I pray you find encouragement as you listen. —Jessa Seewald

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).

    Jessa,
I just wanted to thank you for your message you shared about your journey with the Lord. I was particularly blessed by your comments regarding Martyn Lloyd Jones. He has always been one of my favorite preachers, along with JC Ryle, , and it was so encouraging to hear you say you had found his book “Spiritual Depression.” You did such a good job of explaining Justification, Sanctification and Glorification. I have owned this book for some time but I am ashamed to admit I have only started it but ever fully read it. I have focused more on his books on Romans and Ephesians. You have encouraged me to read this book because I feel I really need to at this time. So thank you for your words of encouragement.

May the Lord bless you and your family.
