Christmas is delicious foods, reunited loved ones, special times, laughing children, sweet presents and precious memories. It’s family and friends. But indeed, Christmas is much more than that.

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew (1:21). “

Christmas is the celebration of the most amazing rescue mission to ever take place. Christmas means that God humbled Himself (amazing!) and took the form of a man…locked Himself in a human body, subjected Himself to temptations, frustrations and all the realities of life on the earth for one singular purpose: to rescue and redeem us. Christmas actually represents God’s amazing, abounding, redemptive love for mankind.  

We are all sinners. Each of us. We’ve all messed up, failed, been selfish, made wrong choices and sinned. Faith in Christ isn’t a focus on our sins but a focus on the redemption He offers us from our sins. Because of His kindness and His sacrifice, we can be saved from our sins and find a new life in Christ; a life where we follow Him, choose His ways and enjoy His redemptive care and forgiveness. We are so very thankful for His love and that those many years ago in Bethlehem, God initiated the earth’s greatest rescue mission ever!
